Small world! My mothers people still live across the river from Horseshoe Bend. Not far, we go through Alex City to get to "Frogeye" community near Davidston and Wadley.

Welcome from south of New Orleans where we also get the benefit of water on the north to help moderate the weather. We are typically 5 degrees (or more) cooler than the north shore in the summer and 5 degrees warmer in the winter. You are right about water moderating the temperature. Right now it is 43 here and 38 on the north shore. Let's not talk about humidity though, especially in summer.

Pull up a chair, grab an appropriate beverage, put your feet up, and make yourself to home. Glad you joined.

Welcome to the forum from Texas! Glad to have you here. Please put your general location in your avatar. It helps when old folks like me can't remember where you are from! LOL

My husband is from Florence, Alabama. He was born in Killen, a tiny town outside of Florence. He was 10 years old when his Daddy got a job with the TVA and moved the family to Florence. It was the first time DH ever saw electricity or running water. LOL He has been in Texas long enough to be a Naturalized Texan LOL LOL.

hi, welcome from sorta mid-Michigan. :)

today's weather here is ice-rink on the driveway. but the sun is peeking out now so that should help get rid of the ice. later this week we're forcast down to 8F and then 1F overnight. but snow at last is in the forecast. i hate being this far into winter and not having snow on the ground. it's all been going south and north of us.

I think I have my area and zone on my profile page but I am on a phone and do not see a status on my posts. I do see it when I click the avatar and get the profile pop up. Do I need to photoshop the info onto the avatar or is there a certain field to fill out that takes care of that info for me?

Bay, as long as you respect your elders we'll get along fine. I do resemble and appreciate your remark.

Dirtmechanic, I use a desktop so cannot tell you how to get your location to show up. Hopefully someone that uses a phone can help you. Which operating system you use can even make a difference in how to do that.
