Don't pay any attention to @seedcorn casportpony, he's just jealous because you have horses. :D

At this point just pleasure/trail. I'm 60 and my horse is 19, but he's a goer! Back in the day I did Competitive Trail, and a bit of endurance and Ride & Tie. Took dressage lessons for a bit, but the idea was just to learn to be a more educated rider, never even did training level.

I haven't done it yet, but I'd like to do mounted orienteering, looks like a lot of fun.

How big are your little sport horses? Are they truly ponies?

Okay, many times I can't tell when people are teasing me, so thanks for clearing that up!

A 19 year old horse is still quite usable if sound. One of my horse heroes was New Zealand's Charisma, he won the 1988 Olympics at the age of 16! Competitive trail, endurance, and ride and tie are a few of the equestrian sports I never did. Kind of wish I had. :(

Just looked up mounted orienteering, and that does look like fun!

My smallest sport pony was 13 hands, and what a blast he was!

He's gorgeous! (Bay just happens to be my favorite coat color too.) You look like you're having a great time on him.:)
You must be quite petite. Do you still compete? What's the cross of your sport ponies?
One of my neighbors is trying out a Blazer for their daughter, she's small but what a dynamo. She's an awesome little trail horse.

Thanks! I had so much fun with him, and I sure do miss him. :( He was 1/2 Arabian, 1/2 Hackney Pony. My other sport ponies were/are welsh or Welsh crosses. I am short, but not petite now, though I am working on that. What's a Blazer?

I like Welsh ponies, they're so refined. I'm an Arab lover, those were my main rides when I was doing distance stuff. I miss them, my old guy that I have now, is a grade quarter, but sound and very forward with a fantastic fast walk. Hopefully we'll have a lot more years to ride together.

A Blazer is a breed developed in Wyoming to be a good ranch horse.
They're a mix of Thoroughbred, Quarter, Shetland, and Morgan.
The little mare the neighbors are considering is said to be a great cowhorse. Very catty and quick.

Welcome from northeast Texas. I have horses too, a 28 year old blue eyed cremello Quarter Horse that has 2 speeds, slow and stop. Awesome kid horse. Have a 30 year old Tennessee Walker mare that has lung issues, is retired and fat and sassy. I don't ride her anymore, she can hang out until "that" day comes. Just bought an 8 year chestnut chromed gelding 13 hands for the grand kids. My style of riding is no style at all LOL.

Glad to have you here, join the fun. Post lots of pictures, we love pictures! We might have been here for a long time, that just means we're a bunch of blabber-fingers and never shut up! Before you know it, you will have been here a long time too!
