I may be a day late and more than a dollar short -- I'm not getting on line every day anymore (depending) -- but I do want to wish you a hearty welcome to our friendly group at TEG.
I currently have two hoya -- a third didn't make it -- and one is my oldest plant; a cutting from Dad's plant. I haven't found spring to be the ideal flowering time for my hoya. It seems that I forget to care for it for a few months and then start tending it carefully when it bursts into (nighttime) bloom that fills the house with heavenly scent.
As far as the kitchen goes, I can cook. 'Nuff said about that.
I have an affection for tropical plants and had quite a few until DH saw that they were killed off a few years ago (totally by accident, but dead nonetheless). I love trying to push the envelope and grow tenders here in south-est, central-est Wisconsin.
Glad to have you growing with us and hope to learn more about your gardening adventures.
