Hey Yall, I'm in Huntsville, Texas. Just found this site. I'm a regular on Backyard chickens. DH and I live on one acre. Our garden suffered due to the drought and intense heat, and water bills. I think everyone's did this summer here in Texas. I worked really hard to keep my chickens cool. I am looking forward to my Spring/summer garden this year.

I hear ya, I am in Azle, Texas and I had to let last year's garden go, was watering twice a day & it was just too darn hot.
Am working on this year's garden plans, and am going to try using soaker hoses, and lay hay on top of the hose to keep the moisture in.

I was misting my chickens 4 times a day during the summer, and they were still panting.
