Hello! I am from just outside of Grand Rapids in Michigan (zone 6a). I have been growing fun beans for several years, but just became aware of this forum recently. I'm looking to grow anything colorful and interested in expanding to more things that might be native or unique to Michigan (like the Grand Rapids Leaf Lettuce). My husband and I have also travelled to Italy and like the idea of planting Italian veggies here until we retire there. Here's a garden image from a very strange and beautiful sunset event.

This photo makes your garden look like a heaven on earth. It looks beautiful even without the spectacular sunset.

Here are some of my favorites so far. I am about to get serious about trying more rare beans starting next year. :) I did dahlias from seed this year. Beans are way easier to store. LOL

Those black beans are enormous! Are they runner beans?? And may I please ask what the name of the pretty rose coloured bean is?

The black ones were unexpectedly large last year. They are Black Coat Runner Bean. As for the pink ones, I believe it was supposed to be a light kidney bean from my soup bean mix experiment. It was such a lovely shade of pink.

that was my guess. :) i love the smell of them (if you take them out of the shell before they are completely dried it is even more noticeable) it's kind of peppery.

i did that same experiment way back when i started wanting more varieties of beans to grow.
