help what is this flower???!

This purple pinapple looking flower grows in our upstate ny flower. graden. this flower bed dates back to the 1890s. plz any guesses?!

No it does not leafs are smooth

My flowers have slender green leaves growing on straight steam each steam produces one flower . there is a little pod (part that reminds me of a pinapple) on the top has liltte purple flowers in a corcle with the coloring fadeing towards the center tp almost pink
