I just looked on the "Journey North" website and saw that hummingbirds are being sighted all around my area. None here yet. :( So I put a bright red table cloth on the patio table, set a basket of red flowers near it and moved the feeder closer to the other red stuff. They should be able to see all that red from several miles away! I'll let you know if I see any today.

I certainly hope none of them made it up here yet! Poor things would be drowned and frozen!

The only reason I know the humming birds are back here is because one dive bombed my head. It made it very clear to me that its time to put out the feeder! hahaha

In past years, one has come to my kitchen window and hovered, seeming to be looking inside for me. It sure makes me get that feeder out there in a hurry! So far, the red table cloth hasn't done the trick this year. But I have confidence it will soon!

Today, April 22nd, I finally saw my first hummer of the year. I guess that makes them about a week late, judging by recent years. Of course, when he got to the feeder, the darned downy woodpeckers had sucked it dry again! I hope he stuck around to see me fill it back up. Haven't seen him again yet.

I've seen 2 so far, they were both at my bottlebrush bushes. I need to buy a new feeder for them.
