My grandfather completely redid his 1/4 acre property in Cleveland by pulling out the clay and filling it in with manure, one wheelbarrow at a time. He did this during the Great Depression. He had a job but he was laid off--got it back as soon as they could afford him--had to learn to grown food. Everybody lived with vacant lots dotting the landscape so they hunted, gardened, and raised meat rabbits and other small livestock. When I was little, his soil looked as black and rich as mine does, and I live on what used to be a working farm!

OMG :ep

I hurt in places I never knew I had! LOL

As you can tell from my posting today I did not go out and do the Manure-Run! I had to take the day off.

I argued that it was that my house needed sweeping, and the rugs needed vacuuming, and I had my greenhouse to work on...but to tell you the truth every time I try to motivate myself and get up it hurts so bad I stand there like a zombie and stare at the next task! LOL

I feel like I have broken ribs, so don't make me laugh!

Come on now, " Walk it off Son, walk it off " :weee
Or the old " It's just grown pains" I would have to reply "But Dad I'm 38 now! " :old

I fixed a great batch of homemade Mac & Cheese with left over Jalapeno cornbread as the topping/crumble.

I swept the house, I vacuumed the house! I caulked 50% of my aviary.

And now Hurricane Rick just arrived! Well the disturbance of it anyways. There is a massive thunderhead above us and the wind picked up and the trees are bending over! Cool!

Best go tie the chickens to one another!

Well,

As usual, the rain skirted around my house (only), everywhere else it was a torrential downpour, flooding, mayhem, the works! Me, nope, barely a drop and nothing in my rain barrel! Uggh! :th

Other than that I feel so refreshed and I feel invigorated! I really feel like I am lighter than air. :weee

I guess a little manure will do the body good! As for this morning, I put in a call but no answer so I left a message. No sense in driving 12 miles to only have to come back. I cannot take it if it is sopping wet; besides it is on sand and the sand will pack with it. Talk about gas usage and I am sure my shocks would be shocked! :ep

I guess I will give her til 9:30 to call me, I am not quite sure why people are not able to return calls?? I called her once already yesterday and left a message to call me!

It's my OCD isn't it? LOL Other people are on real time and I am just in hyperdrive...even when I hurt!

LOL

Too funny!

Today I am not in poop! I actually did not make it back there because of that storm that hit. I am serious when I say that everyone got it but me! Dry as a bone at my house!

So today I am working on adding my Polyfilm panels onto my Aviary! I have only cussed about a hundred times LOL, but one panel is done! Four more to go, then I have to do the doorway.

I should be done before the next iceage; it is funny how summer can just end so abruptly!

A wise older gent was watching my BL bang and cuss a break drum that refused to come off.

The older man came over with some PB Blaster. sprayed were it was stuck and told him, "Be patient, let the penetrating oil work!
The drum slipped right off after a few beers.

My thought here is if it is going rough, step back relax and look at an easier or better way of going about it. It is much to easy to get frustrated!

What you have done is looking great keep up the good work!
