While I am at work, my well man will go to my house and figure out why I have no water. He will need to get into the house. My friend Kristine has keys to my house and I have keys to hers. She will be letting him in. My nephew and sister both have keys. My father just spent keys to all his children. Does someone near to you have a set of keys for a emergency? Do you hide a set somewhere?
Had to break a window last winter when I got out of the hot tub and put on my bathrobe. Youngest grandchild had turned an unused lock on the door handle. broke one of those tiny window panes on the back door. Have made another key and still have not hidden it in the barn.

I locked my keys in my car and had to call a locksmith. It was very embarrassing because driver door had a combination lock I couldn't remember code to. Locksmith kept remarking how code would of saved me $125. Talk about rubbing it in.

Just get a Sharpie and write it under your lock.

Well, duh, don't put the numbers in the correct order!

Haha. Kidding.

I have a hidden key. So far two of the neighbor kids have brought it to me, being helpful in "finding" my lost key.
Fortunately neither of them have a record yet, so I'm not too worried.

We don't have a spare key hidden anywhere. Not too long ago my DH had to use a credit card to open the garage side door, that we usually use. We use a dead bolt at night, but just running into town during the day, a doorknob lock is all we use. I don't think we even have keys to the deadbolt. :hide

I don't think there's really a need to lock the door around here now. But I do it anyway. Especially when DH was away, I made sure all the doors were locked at night.
I had a few minutes of anxiety when the news came out about those two nuns getting killed in their home. (What kind of wacko kills nuns?) But I didn't lose any sleep out of fear.
