I have a kitchen garden on the farm that is 3 70'x4' rows. I like the joy of purchasing seeds from little companies everywhere. So far I'm at $30. I will get about $70 more. $100 total.

The farm on the other hand is connected. J spent 10 years lobbying for organic standards at the federal level. He buys seed but also gets it everywhere form breeders working on patent free seeds. We just got patent free sugar snaps the other day!. Very exciting. We are also a seed farm expanding our varieties. Seeds are J's passion. He started a program to save and catalog seeds to keep them from becoming intellectual property and keep big corporations from controlling the seeds.

Isn't buying seed thrilling? For those who don't garden it's hard to understand. It's simply thrilling!

For seeds from one order..$14.00..I saved seeds from last years garden and also traded some for new varieties..

I still plan on getting the Walmart .20 cent American Seed CO. packs when they come in..Probably spend at least $5.00..

Will spend more for onion sets and potato seeds when time arrives...So basically I am cutting back as I am saving more seeds every year..

I have spent about $70. But it is my hobby as well as my winter food supply so I don't think that is so bad. I always try new veggies and stuff just to see it I like them. I all good.
