Liquid seeding is actually something that farmers do. Alfalfa has small seeds. It should be sown in shallow drills and alfalfa is commonly grown in semi-desert locations. All that spells loss of seed because of dry conditions.
You can use that cornstarch gel squeezed out or dribbled right in the soil. Seed can either be added before and squeezed out/dribbled with the gel or the seed can be sprinkled on the gel after it's in the soil. It really works well by holding moisture near the seed for its use.
