How to protect berries from birds?

If you make a frame, or even hoops, over the bushes to drape the netting over, it is a LOT easier to work with than if you drape it directly onto the plants which is a huge PITA. The netting only needs to be on when the fruit has started to ripen. Bird netting is sold pretty much everywhere.

When you have it propped up away from the bushes on frames or hoops, though, you do need to make sure it is easily visible, otherwise you can end up mist-netting and killing birds, or getting holes ripped in it.
