I'm a little more...shall we say...haphazard ? when I freeze soup. I just dump it in a gallon freezer zip loc bag and freeze it flat. When I want smaller portions from the bag I just let it sit out for a few minutes, then thwack it on the edge of the counter to break it into smaller portions and remove whatever portions from the bag, put the bag back in the freezer.

It's not up to Martha's standards, but it gets me there. :D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY at ya !!! :clap What my wife does with leftover soup, gravy, stock, etc. is divide the leftovers into heavy sandwitch bags,label then lay them flat in the freezer ... and you have individual sized servings of soup for one ... and gravy for the next meal, stock base for other fixings. :drool

Well, now that the Happy Birthdays have been wished and NyBoy is a year older, I have had to go back and edit because of hijack error.

That new PBS show with the chef from New Zealand was on and she had some real nice tomatoes to slice. I thought, "hey, I've grown a tomato from New Zealand. It was that yellow, umm, Earl of Edgecombe." Oops!

I am not sure what I got from Dr. Wyche's Yellow. Neither of these were around more than 1 or 2 seasons but it was Earl of Edgecombe with such nice firm yellow fruit.

Dagma's Perfection is a soft, tender thing. It is a little difficult to slice but okay. The plant is somewhat tender, as well. If there is wind damage to any plant, it's probably the Perfection. After a good growing season, the plants will be covered with nicely-shaped, medium-sized, green fruit. Almost overnight, they will ripen.

My funny version of Woodle Orange, which finally decided to kick out a plant with orange fruit instead of red, is a little thing. The plants are small, the oblate fruit is small. Obviously, the seed was from a cross with something. The orange genes are recessive and were hidden thru 4 seasons, I think it was. DW really likes the little orange things so I'm not too inclined to order more seed and see if I get the correct size fruit from them. Correct size and early-ripening - it might not be possible to have both.

Marshall's dehybrid Lemon Boy had a good season and a bad season. It makes it hard to commit to more than one plant but that's okay. The Lemon Boy hybrid had a very good season but I still don't like that name ... I know, silly me.
