I bet Dave is right about all of this. He seems to have a well-developed culinary sense. You can contrast that to me - I'm waaaay out at the other end of the teeter-totter !
Mare also is probably at 100%. What I've learned from this farm boy's ethnic sojourns into different ethnic fare is that often what is available, is used. And so often that is with so much skill that it brings tears to the eyes . I am so NOT talking about tears from hot peppers!
Maybe it is appreciation from someone with such limited culinary skills. I don't know, it is hard for me to self-evaluate. I will say one thing - if you find a way to prepare something that you like to eat from something that grows well in your garden, that is about the most important skill for a vegetable gardener. Food!
