todays lesson is cool weather crops and warm weather crops and if you live in Texas you probably need to know when it is too hot/humid for tomatoes to set fruit...it is all learning as you go...dont be afraid to ask questions...it doesnt make you an idiot...

the green house where you got the plants from should have warned you that it was too late in the season to plant those variety with out shade protection...a good nursery gives good advice...

I have had many bolts in my life time...due to unseasonable weather or not enough water...or not planting at the right time...**it happens...

Well, Thank Yall, I feel better now.

Good news, I started a compost pile today. A feller in my neighborhood pulled into my driveway today and announced that he knew that I was getting horse manure from the horse stabels down the road that was already composted. He has fresh manure in a trailer that I could come get and make my own compost pile. I took the ole tractor down there and got it and now I have my own compost pile that I am going to turn regularly and add to it for a year.

The manure that I was getting had turned into dirt but it wasnt really composted like a compost pile, does that make since? I want the nice fluffy stuff like you see in all the well composted pictures.
