Not looking good no one has seen kittens. This is exactly how the out of control cat population started here years ago. 1 female having litter of kittens in 5 years became over run with cats. Then the coyotes moved in cat problem solved till now. While I know fox has to eat, kittens are not on menu if I can help it.

The fox probably has family to feed. My big dog Parker, will eat kittens if he finds them. He will run from me so I can't take his kitten away from him. I've seen him swallow the little ones whole.

This time of year everything is trying to feed their young. You would be surpized at the wildlife that lives in the city
No I wouldn't. We moved from the center of our former small town and there were possums, raccoons, rattle snakes, (2 were killed on our street, but over a 30 year period) deer, armadillos and on the outskirts-bobcats.

Trying to save babies from harm is a natural thing to do. I think it is wonderful you tried but Mother Nature will have her way... and she is one tuff cookie!
I'd be after that fox, it'll be back and feral kittens might not be on it's menu next time...
