How would ANY home stand up to those conditions? I see all sorts and types of homes sliding off cliff faces all the time in CA. When it comes down to it, anything you build in CA is going to be subject to these conditions, so you just build on faith and go with your choice. The whole state could slide off into the ocean with the next big one...or so we've always been told...and no home will survive it.

My best advice under those circumstances is to move somewhere more stable so you can build what you like. ;)

weather proof sealer, or something like a deck sealer? ...
In one of pictures a woman looks like she is doing just that. There is also a mortar formula on the page that looks like it may be for that purpose.
how will the cob home stand up in high earthquake prone and soil liquifaction areas of the world ?
How would I stand up??

Personally, I think I could go the way of those mammoths in that lake in Colorado. Earthquake happens! I just settle down about 6' and become part of the geology.

I hope they all had a good drink first ...
