Hahaha... maybe you should get two, and then have some fuzzy little babies. :D

Does it count as "free" if you have to buy a $20.00 rabbit to go inside? I am just messing with you!! That is awesome. You'll have to show us a picture with the new happy home owner.

That's the plan!! I got the hutch from my landlord (he thinks we're crazy with all the dogs, chickens, and now hopefully rabbits). He thinks he has 2 more and he'll give them to me if he finds them. so 3 hutches=3 rabbits (1 buck, 2 does). The small building behind the hutch is now being used as a shelter/run for the chicks when they are outside but once the coop is built this building will be put on stilts with hardware cloth for the floor and will be a grow out pen.

What a score!! Rabbit is very tasty and there is so many different recipes for it. Hey BJ, if you think butchering a chicken is a challenge, wait until you have to knock a bunny in the head! Many many years ago I kept about 300 rabbits and I got real good and real quick on butchering bunnies!

Stoney, what a great landlord! He may think your crazy, but clearly he does't mind. That would be awesome if you ended up with the three. What a great way to start with a new breed of animals. :thumbsup

baymule, when I get to the killing the bunnies phase, i'll be looking to you for that experience. I'm so wimpy about these things, but I strongly feel we need to know how to take care of ourselves for possible hard times ahead.

How does home raised rabbit compare to wild rabbit in the taste department? I'm just curious. DD knows what the CX are for and has no problem with the dwindling numbers in the coop. But, I think she would draw the line at furry, cute little bunnies hanging from the leg ropes in the back yard.
