I was walking to the truck this AM and noticed there is a fruit hanging on my passion flower fine the size of a lemon!
:ep
Where did THAT come from? Wasn't there yesterday! :gig
What - if anything - do you do with it?

The fruit are edible. I haven't tried any, but wildlife likes them. Supposed to make a good jelly, but again, I haven't tried any.

Iron GUT (that's my superhero name) irongut.jpg

If I can figure out how to tell when it's ripe, I might try dicing it up and mixing with some strawberry puree for pancake topping.

Found this info. Kinda sounds like someone's 8th grade report ... but at least now I know to wait till it turns either yellow or purple. It's dark green now.

Cane, I think that is a description of a different passion fruit. It says "colorful flesh and juice" and "crunchy texture". The passion flower or as it is commonly called, Maypop fruit has a clearish inside, more liquid than solid. That article didn't have pictures, which would have helped.

Still green.. fell off the vine. I took them inside and am hoping they will dry before rotting so I might get some seeds out of them.
.. um.. or should I just cut them open and take the seeds like with a tomato?
