WHOOT-WHOOT :celebrate Congrats!
When I got my first box full of seeds, I arranged them on the coffee table and spent several days just looking at them and dreaming of the wonderful summer.....
ENJOY
(and get those weeds under control before they grow!)

I planted the onion sets already. I should have taken the camera with me because I helped the neighbor weed her garden area and I picked a heaping wheelbarrow full :he

I think the contest only works for weeds picked in your own gardens? Checking with marshallsmyth here.

It is great that you were able to get the onions in. They do well in the early spring. Garden pics, please.

Oh yeah, gotta have sunflowers! You'll be glad you got the variety pack. :thumbsup I've grown the Crimson Sweet watermelons a few times and they've been really reliable for me...and tasty.

Hey Wishin', where about are you located? I'm supposed to put my onion sets out now too, but the weather isn't cooperating at the moment. There's a spot where you can put location/zone on your profile if you want too.

@Smart Red We are sharing the space, she lends me a portion of the plot and I maintain pretty much all of it. She may weed some for recreational purposes but it will be mostly up to me.

@journey11 I keep meaning to put that up, NC zone 7b

Wishin', that is a nice kind of neighbor to have! As long as you plan to do all the maintaining and weeding you will never be disappointed and may be pleasantly surprised as well.

When we shared garden space with my parents DH ended up putting a sign reading, "Not responsible for garden past this point" to tease them. Living near your garden is always easier than traveling to keep the weeds down.

Your DH is smart. ;) A few years ago I wanted to do a small garden, I had several family members who thought this was a great idea and asked, hey could you plant this for me could you plant that ect.. I was worried it was getting to big, so I was assured "We'll help maintain it" The garden ended up being MASSIVE, and I was the only one maintaining it. :( At the end of the year I was so burnt out I never wanted to do a garden again. This year I'm already getting "could you plant this for me could you plant that", I just tell them I don't have much space and this is what I'm planting, and run down the list. If they don't like it I remind them of last time. o_O When I bring that up they understand this no really does mean NO. :hide

BTW I got my first batch of lettuce, peas, and broccoli started yesterday. :celebrate
