Squash bugs are going to be horrible this year, I have been squishing eggs for about a week now and a couple of days ago squished a couple of adults. Does neem oil kill the squash bugs (stink ones not vine borers) I don't need it yet, but forewarned is forearmed.

Rotenone works well on squash bug nymphs, it is considered organic.

Thanks I'll look for it.

I have and encourage frogs, (w/ a small frog friendly pond growing duckweed), lizards and preditory spiders, but they do not seem to be any match against the squash bugs! I do my level best to control them by manuel means (squishing) but they are so prolific here, there usually comes a time where squishing just doesn't keep up enough. I try not to spray even the organic and only do so as an absolute last resort. I do have an additional plan right now I have eggs incubating my plan is to have baby chicks (3 wks or so old) just about the time the squash bugs get really bad and the plants are big enough not to be harmed by the tiny chicks. I am going to let the little baby chicks in the garden areas w/ the squash from a moveable brooder so I can let them in all the garden areas that will need them. I'm not sure it will work, but it's worth a try.
