I had asked here what is best peach for the north, anyone replied Reliance. Planted 3 this spring, when they flowered, they where so pretty i didn't care about fruit. i never got to spray them so had little hope for peaches. This is what i found today, how do i know when ripe?

when it has a little give when you press on it.. then pick it bring it inside for a couple days then eat it.....
p.s. your landscaper is not weedeating around the fenceline.
p.s.s you see the large peach just to the right that trimmed back branch, trim it might have blight treat with captan once cut...

otherwise i am jealous .....

When it falls in your hand and melts in your mouth?

I have never been successful with peaches (YET). With pears, a quarter twist near the stem is what I use to pick them. If they come off in that quarter turn, they are ready for harvest. Plums? Just a light tug. Apples take a bit more of a tug.

Those look delicious! Like majorcatfish, I am jealous of those beauties.
