It is hard to "knock on wood" and type at the same time... but, I have not seen one YET! I was thinking maybe they are drowned with all the rain we have been having...

I saw 1 big one while decorating for VBS yesterday. There have been bunches of little bitty ones on my corn - ate all the silk off of the ears.

I've seen two or three, one of those this afternoon. She was immediately crushed!

My theory is that out drought and temperatures above 110 for a couple of weeks the past two summers cooked the grubs in the ground before they emerged so there were not many to reproduce.

I found a huge number of grubs while turning over the garden this spring, but the number of Japanese beetles has been pretty low. I have been hand picking them and feeding to the chickens. Last 2 years I had pheromone traps out, and they attracted every beetle for 5 miles.

Early spring I digged up all the grub worms and gave it to my chickies. The went crazy for them ! I was hoping I got rid of them all, but found few flying around since we got rain. Not to many yet. As for the larger beetles, I havent seen one yet.
