Dont point fingers just yet till you find the culprit. We also had minks take our birds underneath the fence. We also had someone who bought birds from us tell us to keep a better eye on the birds. He has killed 3 minks this year.

Sorry to hear about your birds. How is the raccoon getting them? Do they get locked up at night? Sounds like it is time for a trap or a LGD.... Chickens are so peaceful and sweet, it really makes me sad when something gets one. I lost two, in the winter to a hawk.
He is breaking through the walls here are some pictures of that, which I spent yesterday patching:

Yes they get locked up at night, except for one who is roosting to high in a tree for me to get down.

I'm about ready to buy a new trap mine has always been faulty and is getting worse. But the plan is to trap and shoot the raccoon.

I know that pressed board is cheap and handy- but I hate that stuff... Every time I use it for a project, I end up regretting it. Here's hoping you can catch the culprit. Keep us posted.

I hope you get that coon. I got a trap from home depot for $44. To bad there is no temp place you can put the birds until you fix the coop and kill the coon.

The coop it patched up with metal sheets (they where to be a shed....) which has so far held up. Even though the coop looks funny as long as it works I'm happy. I need to get some pictures of that to post.

maybe if you had some 2x4" welded wire you could attach it all around the out side of the coop. The metal seems to be working great though. That possum could be your problem maybe.
