i never thought i would look forward to june bugs

June bugs are stongly attracted to light after full dark. If you've ever been hit between the eyes with one while on a motorcycle you wouldn't think they're harmless. Feels like someone hit you with a rock.

I plan on hanging a bug light in the run for the girls to have "breakfast" on those darn June bugs!

If you suspend a bare bulb over a bucket of water the june bugs will hit the lamp and fall into the water. That way they won't crawl off before the girls are awake.

Had some obnoxious bug buzzing me today digging clay. I guess it was a deerfly.

hoodat, i love that idea - i am so going to do that. my chickens will love me & i might even save a few for my german shepherd. he's loved them since he was a little baby - crunch, crunch
