Ideas on starting a neighborhood garden?

I was part of a local community garden years ago, but only for one year. It cost money to have my plot but I was working so hard, that I could not keep up. It was fenced and gated/locked to keep out strangers.

So after alot of thought, I'm taking some of the ideas you guys had with this, and still want to do it. I would really love it if I could find someone eco would mind helping me over video chat figure out the best design options. Dee suggested someone, but I thought I'd also ask here if anyone would be willing.
