Mexican Sour Gherkin, that's my guess and I'm sticking to it.
LMAO! How's one of those get here?!!?

Anyways, still no sign of any fruit... and it is not the cukes I planted last year. My flowers were MUCH larger. I checked my neighbor's cukes as he plants different then mine, and gave me some last year as well. He planted the same kind this year, again, his flowers are WAY bigger. Checked him cantalope, because I grew some last year... the leaves my be too small. Could be some left over gourds I had thrown in the compost from last halloween, don't think they are from the pumpkins from last halloween though. I think we had baking pumpkins (paint them for fun and then cook them into pies after the tricker treaters were gone). We had some of those white pumpkins that got thrown in the compost too.

Either way... last year I grew watermelon and corn and a vine of beans from that bed only... and its none of those things.

Several male flowers have come and gone, so I will watch for some type of fruit bearing on the next round. ;)

I vote cantaloupe. Don't know why exactly, just seems right somehow.

But if it came out of the compost without an fert or attention at all my experience has said that they dont grow as large or as well. Just like a second growth tomato you find in the late season garden.

However with all that - Only time will tell, so just keep watering :D
