How darn cute do you have to be to get a click around here? LOL

Just what I needed.... 15 more chickens! hahaha

They were straight run, so I'm trying to wing sex them as a project. Wish me luck, so far the ration looks AWESOME. :D

Uhm, you do know only certain breeds can be wing sexed and it should be done as soon as possible?

I have 2 more eggs that are hatching as well at my friends house. I JUST put mine on lock down yesterday, and I SWEAR I have one egg that's moving just a bit. I stood at the bator and stared at it for at least 15 minutes this morning.......

Way to go Nacho! ;) That is one fat butted duck. Hahahaha

I know wing sexing is as trustworthy as a raccoon. But I thought it would be a cute project to show how close I am, if at all by the breeds I have here. I'll do it again later with similar breeds, compare results... ect.

Anyways, looks like I got a mix of silkies, cochins and d'uccles. Nice to have all feather footed cuteness. I have all these breeds already, except for the d'uccles. Pretty excited. Got them from work for $65 for the 15 shipped. Couldn't pass that up.

watch the feathers on the wings, tails and backs. the girls tend to feather in quicker in those areas. at least that is my experience with my own. :D good luck with the cute fuzzy butts!

I'm pretty sure that that little duckling is a Pekin Khaki Campbell cross. She has a darker head and a couple streaks of dark on her back and then ONE dark, almost black, dot on her butt!! LOL I'll try to take some more pictures later. I got one more that hatched, but isn't dry yet, and one more that I've had to help a little bit. Since they pipped and we were there, she put them in the box to bring them home. :/ The one hatched beautifully and is now stumbling around like a drunk sailor in the bator, the other has pipped and it was having some troubles so I helped a bit, but the membrane looks a little white on the inside. :/ I'm keeping a very close eye on it.
