Hello everyone! I'm new here, so I thought I'd tell about my soon-to-be garden. At the moment it's nothing but grass, however I've finally got permission from my dad to put in a vegetable garden! Woohoo!
We used to have a patch at a community garden, but that went defunct so I've been sticking tomatoes and beans and things in among the flowers in our flower garden. The rabbits and ground hogs and deer really appreciated that. Now maybe we'll get to eat some veggies too
I was reading a book called Lasagna Gardening which had I thought good ideas in it, so that's what I'm going to try, once my dad settles on where in the yard I can put it.
I am feeling inspired because I was at the grocery store today and they were vacuuming the onions. I kid you not. The guy had the hose attachment on and was carefully going over each one. I suppose they were dusty. They also sell individually shrink wrapped potatoes... So, yay for home grown! I'm glad to have found this place
