I think when you are looking for someone, it doesn't happen.
My husband and I were praying that God would choose the right person for us, unbeknownst to each other. We weren't looking for someone. It was just a prayer that we had. We met 3 months later when I picked up a girl from a church I had just joined and offered to give her a ride because it had started raining. She immediately asked me three questions. Are you married, do you have a boyfriend, and how old are you? haha Then she says " I have a brother....
