Indiana, USA, has recognized the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire, Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb has announced.

The governor adopted a declaration saying that the Ottoman Empire deliberately killed almost 3 mn Armenians, Greeks, Assyrians and Syrians. He also proclaimed that November 4-12 will be the days of Armenia Awareness Week.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Indiana Governor Eric J. Holcomb issued a powerful proclamation memorializing the Ottoman Turkish Empire’s centrally-planned and executed annihilation of close to three million Armenians, Greeks, Assyrians, and Syriacs, making the Hoosier State the 48th U.S. state to properly recognize and condemn the Armenian Genocide, reported the Armenian National Committee of America-Eastern Region (ANCA-ER).
