We have frogs everywhere. Tree frogs, bull frogs and some weird looking wood toads. Usually when I see anything like that a chicken is running past with it dangling from it's mouth and a flock chasing after.

Speaking of mice my nephew's house is overrun with mice. He sits around at night with a BB pistol. By time he goes to bed he has a pile of them. They are so bad they run around in front of everyone. I told him he needs to put out some poison, traps have quit working but he worries one might spit out some of the poison and his toddler will eat it.

We have packrats that we have tried getting rid of for over a year but they wise up pretty fast to poison.

Our landlord won't let us have a cat. My nephew hates cats but he really needs one.

@lcertuche Look up the "bucket mouse trap" on BYC. That is child friendly and very effective, though I guess not as much fun as hunting them with a BB gun lol My ex shot a mouse in our house with an air rifle once. The mouse was right at the (open) front door at the time. I walked in and found the man with the most peculiar expression on his face, asked him what's up? Apparently as the bullet hit the mouse, one of my chickens came past, grabbed the rodent before it hit the ground and took off with it. How's THAT for timing? ;)

I will check out the bucket mouse trap. I wish it would work for the packrats I have, lol.

My yardbirds love mice too. I can hardly stand to watch though because one will have it's leg, another it's tail, another it's head! It's like a medieval torture, lol.
