YW, Everyone, for the planting guide.

DH tilled yesterday, and is back at it again today. We're planting more this afternoon.

A small possibility of rain overnight. We do hope it pans out. We're very dry....even have red flag warnings and ban on outdoor burning.

I know this will sound strange, but we've been trying to burn the thatch in our Bermuda grass for the past week - & the darn stuff won't burn!! There have been grass fires all over the state, just from people throwing out their cigarette butts...but we try burning some grass on purpose, and nix, nada, bupkis! :/

I know you aren't too far from here... seems like a lot of the fires are in the suburban Raleigh area around here, yet we have seen people burning in our area no problem.

I'm still holding off on our burning for another couple of days. Dry & winds don't mix.

Ya'll don't have a ban on burning in your areas?

Well, about 7:00am here. I've been up for almost 2 hrs. It's finally light enough to know that....it didn't rain last night. :(

Guess we'll be planting and watering today.

I saw some droplets on my patio table, but not enough to make any difference.

We didn't have a ban until yesterday.

3 major fires have been going here in Garner, Cumberland County and a town off of hwy 210. The one off 210 was a spark up from a controlled burn that was permitted nearly a week and a half ago. No idea how it flared up now.

The Cumberland county fire has already destroyed over 1000 acres.

No idea if the Garner one has been gotten under control, they said it was small but so rural in a wooded area they could only get to it with ATVs!

I just thought it best NOT to burn! Common sense doesn't always negate well with everyone, and they should have put a ban up.
