They keep poppin up in my garden and it don't look like any type of weed that i'm used to seein. This garden orginaly belonged to a chef. She has things planted all over this property that comes up on it's own.

These flowers appear to close completely back up. I will let ya know at the end of the day today.

The leaves look like a watermelon to me :)
What is the flower bud?

It looks like a form of mallow to me, see if you can post a picture of the blossom when it opens.

It is definately not watermellon Dace. I have no clue what the flower is.

Sorry I thought the flower was a seperate plant! It is very pretty though :)

A member of the Malvaceae family. Other members are Hollyhocks (Alcea spp.), and Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus), and Hibiscus spp.

There really is a marshmallow plant, Althaea officinalis, which is where the Mallow family gets its name.

I believe Natalie has nailed the id in question!
