I can't find anywhere that it says who they are owned by... and I'm not ordering from them if they are on the naughty list!

Well, according to Florida Cooperative Extension, Linda Sapp is the owner of Tomato Growers Supply in Fort Myers. (Florida Gardeners get a Second Chance at Tomatoes)

She's the person who writes the letter on the 1st page of the catalog.

Her husband Vince introduced a number of tomato varieties. He died not too long ago.

Edited to add:
Those Dave's Garden reviews: 89 positives, 3 neutrals, 9 negatives

I sent an email to Ms. Sapp asking this question: who owns Tomato Growers Supply? And, I just received this answer:

". . . There are no other owners beside myself.

I guess we are one of the rare breeds left.

Thank you for your interest,
Linda Sapp"

Thanks for checking into that!

I have noticed in the past as I browse their catalog, that they use a LOT of hybrids. I try to avoid hybrids... but its a real draw to have someone focus primarily on tomatoes.

I ordered seeds last year from TGS and was very pleased with the seeds (heirloom tomatoes) and service. After placing the order, they arrived after 4 days..Had great germination, and all seeds were true to type.
They also have a lot of heirloom tomatoes to choose from..

I have been very happy with them also. I was able to get a few peppers and tomatoes from them that I could'nt get from Baker Creek or my other sources. They shipped fast too and I got some free tomato seeds to boot.

Thanks for providing details everyone.

The owner of this place might consider adding an "about us" page on her website where talks about this being a family owned business.
