"SO, if you are feeling like you are wasting your life and getting nowhere, or are unfocused - don't buy another self-help CD, or pay for more sessions with some "guru." Instead, shed those things, and go dig in the soil. Plant some seeds and nurture them to fruit.
By doing so, you will be refreshed in both body and spirit and will see things in a vastly different way. Your purpose will become clear and you will learn what the potato has known all along - greatness is, indeed, within you."

You are so right, There is nothing like the peace that descends on you as you toil in the soil & nothing like the joy of seeing the harvest you have instigated. It is especially joyful when it has been difficult to achieve. Everyone has their own way of gardening -- that is the fascination of it -- well for me it is....!! I love the variety but then that is what I love in people world-wide. You can tell a lot about people from their gardens! I freely admit mine is messy but abundant, full of unfinished ideas . I have a happy ability to make things grow but I can't keep them tidy & organised. The garden reflects me perfectly.
Yes, I talk to my plants. I apologise a lot, I egg them on & I threaten on certain occasions & I praise them a lot. But then I talk to my chickens & my cat in the same way. My neighbors are highly amused & are convinced I am mad but they happily accept the gifts of eggs, vegetables & plants & in the past kittens from me & they occasionally cut back a hedge or strim some weeds without asking.
I am very happy in the peace of my little piece of heaven & I am calmer than I have been in years & I certainly enjoy sharing the journey with you all.
