had a good chuckle this afternoon driving home, saw the first trailer load of christmas trees going down the interstate....

had a flashback to a few decades ago, when christmas lp records would start selling on tv around the end of october and then other the they started a week earlier and then you could get them on 8-track and cassettes as well...and you could do c.o.d. ...poof... have not seen one on tv in ages.

of course lowes, home depot, wal-mart.etc the day after labor day all the patio stuff is got and right to christmas..really:confused: i am more worried about getting fall veggies in the ground than getting that 15' giant snowman for 395.00

beginning of october the pumpkin patches spring up everywhere, now come on you have 3 weeks till halloween like they are going to last carved up till the big day... lets face it some of us are still harvesting watermelons.....

and then there was today seeing that trailer load of christmas trees going down the interstate, traditional you do not see them till a week before thanksgiving and then you see a tree lot on every corner.by my calculations there is 7 weeks till christmas. i love christmas trees but i want a nice green one not a dried out fire hazard in 5 weeks and cross my fingers that the 12 days before christmas the house does not burn down :hide ........

happy early thanksgiving....

Steve, I saw my first load of cut Christmas trees yesterday being unloaded at the veggie and flower (now gone until spring) stand in town. The first sight of fake Christmas trees up for display at a home center a few minutes later.

I just wanted to shout, "Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!" standing there amid the tinsel, lights, and ornaments that filled that section of the store. Nary a turkey feather was to be seen. At least the Christmas music wasn't in play, yet.

My sisters church mailed all members a letter one year about puting Chris back in Christmas. It asked everyone to go back to Merry Christmas. I have a lot of Jewish clients, so got in habit of Happy Holidays .More then a few times, I had someone turn around and say its Merry Christmas.
