Hello Boggy. I don't know what horrific tragedy imposed itself on your life, and it's none of my business. What I do know from reading these posts is that a lot of people here love you very much. That much is obvious. What ever it was, I am glad that you are here, with your friends. I haven't been a member here for very long, but I do know that the people here are some of the very best. I certainly hope that we can become friends.
We already have, Monty........and I can, honestly, say that the folks on TEG are as REAL as real can be......something that is, sadly, lacking in lot of our face-to-face daily interactions. Course, ya don't, normally, find those people diggin in the dirt, either....coincidence, I think not.

Oh Boggy, I was just thinking about you the other day. I was wondering how you were doing, and was thinking "I wonder if his special garden space has starting growing and blooming yet this year?" :) Its so very nice to see you. I hope you are going to stay awhile. :hugs
Hey v......Plan on hangin around, that's for sure. My special garden really got off to a good start, then I took that second job, then the drought set in.....then, then, then......I REALLY should have waited till the next year to try it, cause mentally I couldn't keep up with it, that soon "after". But on the bright side......some of the flowers did survive, went to seed and continue to make me smile by popping up each year. I have plans, in my head right now, of relocating the garden, with the statues, where I've started the new garden, next to the house. Gonna transplant those surprise flowers, too.

Boggy, there are some others who used to be active and posted a lot, were friendly and had good friends here then disappeared too. Once in awhile I look at some of the old posts and topics and put a reply on some of them if there is good relevance just hoping that maybe they'll get a notification and maybe come in. One for instance is the mama chicken. She has a blog also, and when I went on her blog, I decided to look her up on facebook. We are now friends there. She let me know all is well but she simply got too busy to be on the computer very much.

Lots of cool things have been going on here. I'm sure you'll catch up. Monty has his chicken projects and knows tons about soil testing, old guy and Ridge have been a bit political lately, the rambling rambles section gets fun to get the day going, new folks like Secuono and arielle and phoenix have things going on, rebettzin's been sharing awesome recipes, bluejay77 is a wanigan associate sharing beans, digit has his patented GOOPP gardening system...gardening on other people's property...oh, so much, and i had 3 teeth yanked out yesterday, gotta get my coffee kicking in and get started with the day.

Real glad you are back!

Now some others i'd love to see coming back at least for a visit, like hattie the hen would also be great.

Yep, I got a whole LOT of catchin' up on posts to do, that's for sure, Marshall. Nadine (Hattie The Hen) and I are friends on facebook. She, not too long ago (I think, mid-summer/early fall), had to have a lot of work done on her house plus the UK has been hit with some of the coldest, snowiest, wildest winter weather, on record, this year. I can see that she does come on facebook pretty often, but she very RARELY posts anything there, either. I'm thinkin' that her "plate" may, REALLY, be full right now.

I think those of us who remember some of these folks, miss them too. Rosalind used to be so active, knew so much about gardening and was real good at expressing herself in a calm, understanding way.

We even lost a moderator, Reinbeau Ann. I wonder if her health just didn't permit her to continue having a garden in her summer home in Maine.

That may be the problem with Hattie. She seemed to have quite a struggle with bad weather and having her garden there outside of Oxford. It was wonderful talking to her about her home and she knew Canada and the US quite well. I think that her Oxfam work was the most important activity for her and gardening may have taken 2nd place.

I have wondered if some folks who are very knowledgeable have been offended at times. I once asked a regular forum person why she had stopped posting. She said that it seemed that with every post, she was challenged by someone. She came back and posted just once or twice and I'll be d**ned if she didn't get challenged! Her response was angry and that was the last she was heard from.

You know, Reinbeau brought me back to the forum once after I was ticked-off by something or other. I took quite a good long break and I really wish that I hadn't :/. We can't quite go home again but some of us should never pack our bags and leave. I mean, just pick one subforum and show up every now and then to read the posts. It shouldn't really take long to look at that 1. Like the "Harvest forum:" there has only been 9 topics in the last 30 days. Even in "Flowers:" we haven't averaged 2 topics/day.

Steve
back here to correct this: i didn't mean 9 posts/30 days or 2 posts/day. i meant 9 topics and 2 topics!
