I think the Newport Plum is the same as this mystery tree I've seen in front of a house down the road. Beautiful, dark leaf color and a rounded shape...it looks just the same! I can see why you picked it. Lovely!

A lot of people around here use Bradford Pears for landscaping, great swaths of them lining driveways, etc. They are beautiful when blooming but are very brittle, and are the first to split when we get ice or heavy snow. I think your kind is a little different, and hopefully sturdier, Jared. Your plans for the property sound great.

The first hints of life on my plum tree. It's filled with these beauties.

My sister planted a tree on her terrace in town. She thought it was a landscape Bradford pear. Turned out to be a Bartlett pear. Once it started fruiting, it produced such delicious pears.

Unfortunately, it was only two blocks away from the high school and once they noticed the fruit, some would pick a few for lunch and some would pick a few to throw at windows. I had the extended handle picker so she always got the higher fruit for herself.

My $30 Walmart autumn Glory Maple tree

I'm hoping to get it planted between the rain showers. Couldn't pass it for that price and it was already factored into the design here. Win-Win in my book!

That tree is big Jared. Seems like a steal to me for $30.

And why I couldn't pass it up for that price. Literally was $29.99 plus tax out the door. I must have checked it about 20x to be sure the price was right then ran like heck to be sure try didn't realize I was making out so well! :ya

Jared, you remind me of myself. There have been times when I know the item was priced wrong and after I paid for it I wanted to run!

I was in Kohls a few weeks ago buying a baby gift and I wanted to add a little toy to it. Well of course the one I wanted didn't have a price. I asked the manager and he just picked up a similar one and told me to tell the cashier to ring it for that price. The lowest toy was $7.99. It rang up as 85 cents! I sure wanted to run out as fast as I could. lol
