Phaedra, I once had about a dozen Coturnix quail in cages in my garage.

The hens are little laying machines!

It was fun having them, altho the neighbors became curious about the noise . They kinda played out sooner than my laying hens have. It was okay as far as the purpose for having them. The eggs are remarkably large for such little creatures and once started they just kept coming through their season.
