Hi, Gathered these seeds, at the Sacramento Zoo, when the girls were little ones. Think they'll sprout?

I read that seed found in the Tower of London, that had been taken along with a Dutch ship by the British some 600 years ago, were planted and sprouted.

I planted only two seed, maybe I should set half a dozen more.

be prepared to keep that thing in check if it does grow. they become invasive in many areas. my parents are still fighting the one i planted about 20 years ago in their backyard that destroyed a wooden privacy fence. it never bloomed but kept growing and sending out runners and still sending runners to this day.

Hi, I was so impressed with the beauty of Wisteria I collected the seeds as if they were gold.
Wifey just fell in love with a plant they have at the garden centre and I remembered the seeds. If they sprout we'll put them on the pergola, whatever that is, she want us to build.

they are similar to an arbor. it will need to be very sturdy. i do not advise buying something from a big box store unless it is very sturdy. i've see wisteria vines take over chain link fences and pull them down with their weight over time.

i think they are beautiful too and that is why i bought one. i just didn't expect it to climb over everything it came in contact with.

I love them but live in the north where winter kind of helps it it in check. 3 years ago I picked up 2 on sale, I gave one to a friend and planted one next to garden shed. The one I gave to friend flowered past 2 springs, mine while growing well never flowered yet. Grown from seed it may never flower, if you really want flowers, buy one in bloom at nursery.

Twenty-some years ago DH bought three tree wisteria -- red, white, and blue for $99. Only one remains, and it is no longer tree shaped. I have no idea if it is the red or the blue wisteria -- may never know.
