Steve if I weren't gone to work over fifty hours a week, I'd do a lot more by hand! I really enjoy working in the dirt (with no shoes and no gloves!) In a few years when I'm back to housewife & garden mama, I hope to be a lot more hands on.

Now you be careful to wash properly, and keep a respectful distance or mask, as there are soil fungi about that will get ahold in your skin and lungs that will make you sad.
