I have a 1-1/2 story house with the deck on the upper level. Underneath the deck is empty space where I keep my two compost bins.

Well, as coincidence would have it, I found a 1999 book 'Home Landscaping Midwest Region' the other day at a thrift store; and, I'll be darned if they didn't show an EASY to make & BEAUTIFUL lattice skirt to cover underneath a raised deck using 2 by 2's which are easily attached to the deck posts with "squares" any size you want them to be.

I AM going to build this, and it will do double duty -- HIDE my compost bins, and I'll use it for growing morning glory vines to climb UP on; but, this could very easily be used for vertical growing of vining veggies for ADDED growing space.

Had to share this as we're all looking for ways to increase the growing capacity in our yards. Well, anyway, those of us with suburban yards.

I think this is an awesome way to really use every bit of space you have!!!

Think Beans, and cucumbers! :) Maybe some melon. Those flowers you get will make way for yummy stuff. :D
