Lawn Cutting

Back to the yard work question, I stay the month of Feb in Fla with a friend who has a yard service. His cust. pay the same year round no matter how many cuttings he does each month.
During the wet season that may be 4 times or more per month but when things get dry or in the winter that may be once a month.
During the month of Feb we may go around and make an apperance, run a vacume over the leaves, spray some weed killer, not really much of anything, mainly show his face.
Most of his customers are older and they are set in their ways and don't want to have to change lawn services so they accept this as the way things are!!!

Same here Nyboy. Sometimes if we are having small plates/tapas and we are still hungry or want to try something else, we'll order it. Dessert depends if I'm on a diet or not! :D

Even a token tip up front puts a smile on the server's face and it lets them know they are appreciated.

I wouldn't just leave it alone and assume anything. Because he might interpret it as he can scam you and you wouldn't know any different.
I'd call and tell him about the bill for no work being done and then mention that since he's been with you for so long, you're going to pay it as a tip.

If he always mows on a certain day of the week, say Thursdays, there will occasionally be months with 5 Thursdays. Does he charge extra for the extra day? I'm guessing that you have a monthly contract and pay a set amount for mowing that month, no matter the extra days. I doubt he's scamming. There's no percentage to risk his reputation and thereby his livelihood.

A customers trust and loyalty are priceless.

Right on Thistle! I think we need to look at it for the season not just the month and I bet it will balance itself out. Glad you pointed that out because I know I would have missed it too.
