What a great idea!;) And here I'm just throwing those tomato skins out in the garden.
Thanks so much for posting this, so much better to make paste out of the skins instead of a waste.

I've dried the tomato skins in a dehydrator and then powdered them in a blender. I used that powder mainly when making oil and vinegar salad dressings, though it can go into other things as flavoring.

One word of warning. Only use the tomato skins. Don't use the seeds like you would get out of a food mill. Those seeds contain oil which will go rancid. The powdered tomato skins without the seeds last a long time.

Will certainly try this! A little worried about the seed issue- but sure worth a try! The chickens will be very sad, not to get that skin!! Don't tell them....

That is the coolest thing I've seen since unsliced bread! I'm all done canning tomatos for this year, but NEXT year...
