Memorial Day weekend is start of summer here, most people celebrate with a BQ. At some point this weekend I am going to have friends over for one. What is your favorite BQ recipe, last year @MontyJ corn wrapped in bacon was a big hit !!

As it should have been! Anything wrapped in bacon has to be a hit.

I just add a tad of this and a bit of that to a jar of BBQ sauce. Ribs are rarely made. Therefore they are different enough to be a special treat and are loved by one and all around here.

I am good with just family. The food doesn't have to be fancy if the family is here.

Our son is coming!!!! He got laid off the week before we moved. He moved our horses for us, helped us pack up, drove the U-Haul and helped us throw it all in the house and portable building. A few weeks later, he went back to work, six days a week, twelve hour days. He has a long weekend and is spending 2 days with us. Can't wait for him to see all that we've done!

Going to BBQ chicken and hamburgers Friday. When we cleaned front fence row, I snatched the hickory branches and clipped them in 6" pieces. Will make some yummy smoke!

We bought a bunch of outdoor chairs and they are grouped under shade trees. Family, food and fun.

Hey, if I was wrapped in bacon, I'd be a hit too! :p

We don't have baby back ribs often, so I think we'll have them with our MoonShadows Farm Honey BBQ Sauce along with some home made macaroni salad, potato salad and cole slaw. My mouth is already watering.

Looks like a quite weekend for us. No big plans past Hank's burial on Sunday. If the weather is nice we will probably spend most of weekend working at lot and garden. The mower has been done. DH repaired it last night. Grass is VERY long. Bunnies love it and have done a number on the garden. So maybe burgers or brats on the grill when we take a break.

It's Friday, son will be here soon. DD and family will be here after DSIL gets home from work. I have the BBQ pit rolling out the smoke. Have cooked 10 pounds chicken legs and thighs, 4 pounds link sausage, 24 jalepeno Popper's, and smoking hamburger patties now.

We can get together, feast, visit, have a good time. Then we can all do whatever we want with the rest of the weekend. Supposed to pour rain anyway, today is sunny and beautiful.
