I've got about 20 more that should be ready to go in the next day or two... and more that are just now forming! Strawberries... you can keep this up all year long for as much as I care!! :D

They are tasty!! I'll give them that! I just wish I could keep my hands off of them long enough for everyone in my house to enjoy them... :hide

My strawberry patch died out. I have 2 plants in a pot that I kept inside all winter, now on my front porch and I have 3 strawberries on it right now. I think I'd grow them in pots so that they don't get crowded out.

I got such a kick out of my little grand daughters when I took them to a pick-your-own strawberry farm a couple of weeks ago. They were just overwhelmed by the number of fat juicy berries. They kept saying "look at this big one Grandma! Can I eat it?" They couldn't get over the fact that they could eat all they wanted and no one would yell at them! The owner even came over to chat and encouraged them to pick and eat.

Looking good! I have put up 33 half pints of freezer jam and my mother 22 jars. I have also frozen 7 quarts and given away a couple gallon to the person that shared sweet potato slips with us. More to pick tonight! I will not let them go to waste, maybe Christmas presents! Our children are getting a few jars as a gift next week. My 8x16 foot raised bed is packed full but I like that they are so easy to take care of as far as weeds, etc. in the bed. When I mow them down and dig up sprouts, I need to put in some stepping stones to use next year for my foot.

As I picked this week, I remembered about 30 years ago when I supplemented my income by raising strawberries and picking and selling. ONE day I picked 40 gallon to sell. I now wonder how I ever did that! AGE really makes a difference in what we can do. lol
