I'm sorry for your loss. **hugs**
Chickens seem really tough, and then you find out that they are not. I've had two roosters just get sick and die two days later. It happens. They aren't very long lived. We just always try to be kind to our animals.

Ninnymary,

THEY say life is a fragile thing. I learned a bit more about that this past week. When you ponder all that can go wrong it is amazing that anything thrives and grows.

Bringing animals into our lives is something that blesses both us and the animals in our care. All we can do is our best and pray that is enough, but -- for reasons we may never know -- some times we lose one. Death is as much a part of life as growing is.

Despite the litigious society we live in, not every event has someone at fault. We care, we do our best, we hope, and we grieve when that is not enough. Don't feel what happened is your fault. It is not. :hugsHugs! :hugs

That was beautifully said, SR!
