Oleander is a deadly poison with no antidote and a nasty death. No thanks.

i'm not really sure i've seen any around here, sounds more like a southern plant. but that it gives no nectar for bugs is what would make it rather low on any list i would have for planting it. i can grow other woody plants with beautiful spring flowers, nectar and fruits, so for sure would skip this one.

the blue color of the delphiniums covers a lot of sins they may have.

did i mention that i've seen signs of deer sampling them too, no bodies laying around though (but we do have some gardens we call the graveyards because of how they were raised up). we often joke about who's buried where and where we'd like to be stuck when the time comes. gallows humor is just a part of our repertoir...
