I would do Dahlias, too, but the digging out and winterizing won't justify my energy right now.
I will satisfy my Dahlia itch for Your photos!

Ducks when I had my third hip replacement surgery I just planted a few dahlia tubers in pots. I could enjoy a few fav dinner plate size dahlias I have grown for years. That way I could just bring the pots and all in a cold storage place until time to bring them out again. I treat them much like Hippeastrum/ Amaryllis.
